A B&B Hidden Gem in Pisa

Wiithin a very short walking distance from Pisa railway station and the tram for the airport, the main shopping street and the river, Audrey & Me is a delightful and reasonably-priced B&B with several impressive double bedrooms with an Audrey Hepburn theme and excellent bathrooms. It is not in a particularly salubrious part of old Pisa and you let yourself in through a rather forbidding front door by using a code and haul your luggage up to the first or second floor and collect the key to your room, but our spacious bedroom was a real surprise - spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated in a modern hotel style and with a very comfortable large double bed, a good TV, A/C and nice towels. This is an old building and the window shutter did rattle slightly in the strong wind on our night's stay but this did not prevent us from enjoying a good night's sleep. The continental buffet breakfast had enough choice for us and was served by a quiet but attentive older lady, who appeared to speak no or very little English but that was not a problem. If desired, you are able to sit out and enjoy breakfast, a bottle of wine etc. on an outside terrace, which is a nice touch. Would definitely consider using this B&B again if returning to Pisa as it's ideally located for the station and tram to the airport about Ik away and good value for money.

Not as expected!

First the good points, very close to the train station and so via Pisamover very close and convenient for the airport. The room was clean and very spacious with a sitting area and a large en suite bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The not so good bits... Yes close to the station but unfortunately that means a quite loud area to stay in with shops below and a window that did not quite shut, therefore quite noisy. Up two flights of stairs to the apartments, quite dark and the light outside the front door not working so a torch was needed to find the keyhole! Breakfast was ok but probably the worst coffee we have ever tasted in Italy, also the lady serving spoke no English at all and although I feel when in Italy speak Italian the hotel claims to have English speaking staff. The thing that tipped the balance fo me to leave a poor review. The room was not overly expensive at £80, and I did expect to pay the city tax (on Hotels.com it states €1 per person per night it is actually €1.50) but we were charged €5 tax for one night, when I asked why it was so much I could not be understood at all and the housekeeper was very abrupt and dismissive. I contacted the property and was informed it was a €2 invoice tax! This was quite strange as they did not issue an invoice to us, I would have happily paid the extra €2 when booking the room but feel as though it’s an “extra” they throw on to gain more money. We won’t be staying again.

Lovely Hotel

Near to the train station. The accommodation was very nice. Spacious room, comfortable large bed, sofa, open fire (I think it was gas) looked real. Nice large bathroom although no hooks to hang your towel and things on. Nice breakfast. Only 1 issue, there were 2 of us booked in separate rooms, the accommodation was double booked for the night we stayed so they put my friend in another hotel just up the road but it wasn't the same standard or what was expected. I complained to the booking site when I returned but they could not get a response from the accommodation. Heather

over night stop over

when we first arrived here we were a bit dubious at its location, but as we had cases we wanted to be near the train station...it was very quiet and dark when we got into the apartment and it felt as if we were robbing someones house...this wa only meant as a stopover as we travelled from florence to get to pisa airport....in the morning there were other guests and it felt more welcoming and the breakfast was simple but tasty...as ive been to pisa twice now i dont think i'll be returning as ive seen everything there is to see

Hidden gem, worth every Euro!

This is not a hotel, it is however a very clean and tidy B@B with exellent WIFI, spacious bedrooms all with En suite, continental breakfast and free use of the kitchen if you fancy staying in and cooking your'e own food. Sadly, my Italian is lacking, (Brit abroad) and the host's English is also poor. Better than my Italian though lol The location of the B@B is not quite des res, but is very close to the main line station with direct access to Lucca, Rome, Florence and Monticatini. We paid 400 for 7 nights, a great deal, the place also has a balcony, ideal for that late evening bottle of wine. Yes, we'd go back.
