Don't miss staying in Shah Palace Hotel

Our family stayed at Shah Palace Hotel for 4 nights in March 2026. We will definitely stay there again because of its incredible location and the excellent restaurant on the 4th floor. We enjoyed 6 meals there because the food was outstanding. The building's main lobby is breathtaking and perfectly complements the hotel’s location right inside the walls of the Old City. You truly feel like part of history while staying there. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless, and we all loved the signature scent from the diffusers. Could you please share the name of this perfume? :) I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to experience local culture rather than staying in a soulless business hotel.

January at Shah Palace

I stayed here for five days. The room was spacious and clean, and there was a lively atmosphere in the little square outside. All the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was very generous, and the view from the terrace is stunning. It was my first trip to Baku and staying in the old town was the perfect choice. I hope to visit it again soon, perhaps at a different time of year.

Worth trying

A very beautiful hotel with a One Thousand and One Nights theme, located right in the center, which makes it easy to walk around and enjoy the area. The staff were very kind and friendly, and I would especially like to thank the gentleman who welcomed us so warmly and supported us during our stay. Arriving by car can be a little complicated, as not all cars are allowed to enter the location directly. We stayed in a superior room with a view of the hotel’s architecture, which was lovely. However, the bed seemed quite old and made noise whenever we moved. The sockets were also far from the bed, which made it inconvenient to charge and use the phone at the same time. We could hear noise from the surroundings quite clearly, and the room was very warm, with no real way to adjust the temperature except by leaving the door open. The Wi-Fi connection was also quite slow, and it took a long time to upload a short video. The hotel also has a spa and a Turkish bath, which guests can use by informing the receptionist one hour in advance. The breakfast buffet was acceptable, and it would be even nicer if larger mugs were available for guests who enjoy drinking a lot of tea. Thank you very much, Shah Palace team. Worst experience ever – avoid this hotel at all costs

Worst experience ever – avoid this hotel at all costs Worst ever experience with staff, service, and rooms. I strongly recommend avoiding Shah Palace Hotel. We booked a Superior King Room for a family, but at check-in we were given a twin bed room instead. The twin beds were extremely uncomfortable and felt like kids’ beds, completely unsuitable for a family stay. We had to wait almost two hours at the reception, during which the staff kept arguing and blaming us. Eventually, we were forced to accept the room they provided, as they showed no concern for customer comfort or booking confirmation. Ratings: Rooms: 1/5 Service: 1/5 Location: 3/5 Rooms Old, worn-out rooms. Door locks often do not work, including bathroom locks, which is completely unacceptable. Food & Drinks Breakfast was just average, nothing special. Noteworthy Details • We had a confirmed reservation for a different room type, but staff lied at the counter about the room and then provided something completely different at check-in. • The issue was reported during the first stay, and management promised to provide the correct room on the next stay. • Instead, we were given a downgraded twin room with kids-size beds, not the booked family room with a king/double king bed (photos attached). • After two hours of waiting and arguments, the only alternative offered for the next day was an even more downgraded standard room, again not suitable for a family. • At the check-in counter, they again claimed the room had been updated to a king bed, but upon entering the room, it was not true (photos attached). Even the management’s response to complaints reflects their culture—they consistently make false claims and shift the blame onto the customer instead of resolving the issue. Final suggestion: Avoid this hotel at all costs. It is not worth the stress, time, or money.
