Beautiful for Instagram but not to stay.

Beautiful for Instagram but not to stay. This hotel caught my eye through Instagram (doesn’t most places!) it looks beautiful with its travertine and minimalist design, great for the gram but not to stay. Walking in the smell was gorgeous, the place was an instant wow factor and the staff were so friendly. Pros- -Staff very friendly and attentive -Excellent location (although no taxi/ uber could find it! -Beautiful design for photos only! Cons- -Unfortunately when you are staying there this harsh interior is not comfortable. -The bar at night was so dark we could not even read the menus, the restaurant was not open every night, and it had no atmosphere at all. You could not relax there after a full day exploring in Rome. -The bedrooms, again beautiful when you initially walk in for a picture for your socials but they were not comfortable to want to go back to and relax after a full day seeing the sites of Rome. -There was only the harsh full lights in the bedrooms, so you had to have the full light on to relax at night and to read a book, or have the TV light on to create a less stalk atmosphere. -The bathroom toilet was so uncomfortable and just felt so strange to use. It felt unhygienic that you could not shut a lid! The shower was a mounted handheld shower and was not powerful enough. This is more a one night hotel as an experience rather than a week stay. I came away feeling disappointed as I wanted to feel more relaxed and Ayer a day exploring Rome wanted to have a lovely drink in a nice bar with lovely atmosphere. It is not 5* in the traditional sense it is more of a boutique hotel.

Quiet and comfortable- and full of history!

Nomos Hotel is a new and very thoughtfully designed addition to the Rome hotel scene. It's a former Franciscan monastery that was renovated with care, while trying to restore and maintain any architectural details of the structure. The staff also dresses in these cloak hybrids- very authentic, ha! It's very minimalist, much like the original monastery, and the color scheme is very muted. The room was spacious and very modern- there is a tablet in the room that you can utilize for room service. Our room was also very quiet which I expect to be the case in most rooms as the hotel is located off a back street. The only problem I had in design/function was the bathroom- the shower only has a half partition of glass, so no matter how we aimed the showerhead, we soaked the floor every time. In addition, the toilet situation is... uncommon. There are two large marble squares (with a toilet inside) facing one another- a toilet and a bidet. To sit on one, you almost knock knees with the one in front of you. Other than that, we found the staff to be very competent, at both the restaurant and the front desk. Apparently the gym and spa are under construction, so we did not see/experience either.

All perfect! Thank you for the unforgetable experience. The staff from the desk the one with a short hair during our check out was lovely and all of the rest. Would defenitely turn back for my holiday vacation!!!
