Beware of privacy on terrace rooms and flexy check-in that isn't guaranteed

Mostly great but two significant misses. I was overall pleased with the room space, location and common areas. However, despite booking my room with Flexy Time, I arrived to find it not ready. I was offered another room for a few hours but having to unpack, shower, repack and then move rooms again isn't the spirit of Flexy Time or why a lot of us book the Hoxton in the first place. Second, I booked a Roomy with Terrace. It wasn't mentioned either online or in person that that terrace would be shared by another room. I had an expectation of privacy in my room; instead, the other person could have been looking directly into my room as I changed, showered, etc. Also navigating who has access to a shared terrace, what to do when the other's food is left behind, etc. is not what a nice hotel should be putting upon their guests.

Beautiful but lacking in service speed and allergen awareness

Beautifully designed hotel in a great location. Service is incredibly slow however and if you have gluten free requirements or are coeliac I would not recommend staying here - all the bread at breakfast (gluten and gluten free) is mixed together and there is no awareness (at dinner also) about gluten free requirements.

Lovely staff, awesome building, perfect location.

Lovely in Paris

Hox Paris was a gorgeous property in a lovely walkable neighborhood. It was not our first time in Paris, but the stay made it special. Cozy room is well-appointed. Hotel is safe and secure. Shower/bathroom is spacious and water pressure and temperature perfect. Bed very comfortable & not mushy. The staff are courteous and helpful. They know some of the best restaurants, rooftops, shopping and sites to recommend. The coffee bar staff in the mornings make gorgeous caffeine drinks of all types, and they are so KIND. Special shout out to Leslie and Sene at the counter for helping me; I became ill at the last part of the trip and they were so sympathetic. PS if you're from the US and covet air-conditioning bring your own travel fan. These old buildings aren't typically outfitted with central air, although this location is, I believe. Be prepared.
