Still staying atthis dissapointing hotel. This is our third visit,the rooms and hotel is always clean.The lifts are a nightmare one or both usually giving trouble. The bar area and entertainment area has become quite"souless" Having to queue for drinks and then asked for service charge unacceptable.No wait staff at all on Sat.night. Most of the afore mentioned can be worked around the poor standard,cheap and luke warm food at night can't. Tables no longer have clth or covers.More transport caff than restauraunt We are booked again for later in the year but really thinking hard about cancellation
We have just returned home from this hotel. The hotel, the rooms and pool area were very clean and tidy. The problem was the food! It was awful every night. We only got chicken legs or thighs on the bone. There were no chicken breast or other nice cuts of meat. There was chicken in batter and fish in batter one night, and all you could taste was the batter. They were cooking tiny pieces of steak in front of you, but you needed at least 3 or 4 pieces to put on your plate. The soup was cold most evenings but if you complained the staff told you to warm it up in the microwave. Some items of food were repeated the next day and we thought it was the left overs being warmed up. The breakfast was a bit better but they ran out of boiled eggs one morning at 9.30 and when we asked for some they said there were no eggs left! One morning they ran out of English breakfast tea bags, and when I asked for some they said there was no more in the hotel. I complained to the manageress who was in the dining room and she went out and found some. One of the waitresses was also very rude to my husband one night and he had to complain about her. We were talking to people who had been there year after year and they said they would never come here again and neither will we.
We have just returned from a 2 week stay on B&B changing from half board a few weeks before because of some of the scathing reviews regarding food we had read, the tour operator were amazing by letting us do this which took the stress out of our holiday as we knew there were some very good eateries close by. We stayed at The Falesia last year & the food was very good hence our return. We thought we would give the buffet dinner a go our first night to make up our own minds but sadly all the reviews were spot on it was awful two meat choices one fish, the meat was inedible, the salad was fine but who wants to eat salad for 2 weeks! It felt like a canteen such a shame, the staff looked sad & miserable. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice shame hot choices were only warm. We had a great room very clean sunny balcony high floor very comfy bed that part we cannot fault, one of the lifts was out of order 10 out of 14 days neither were working one evening so we & others were taken up in the service lift! We did swim in the outdoor pool the first week but there was scum on the pool the following week which put us off so used the lovely refurbished indoor pool. The gardens were our place of choice to lounge in the afternoons rather than around the pool but the older sunbeds were saggy & uncomfortable many had broken straps underneath & were left broken & not taken away there was row upon on row of old sunbeds stacked up in the beautiful garden! why would guests want to sit & look at these! same dirty glasses were left for 4 days before being cleared although I would question why some lazy guests couldn't be bothered to return them! To summarise we actually had a great holiday because we were B&B we were worried that we we wouldn't find decent restaurants close by how wrong we were they were all great & we didn't need to sit in a dull quiet bar after dinner & the hotel buffet was the worst & most expensive meal we had in our 2 week stay! we love the area the walks the pine trees I really hope the owners will listen to their guests change can be good & I hope that the issues that have been raised will get sorted we would book again for next year but only on B&B which I have spoken to the tour operator about but oddly they are not doing B&B any more only half board such a shame as B&B worked very well for us & enhanced our holiday.
I have visited this hotel three times a year for several years, but after my recent stay, I have cancelled my future bookings. It is devastating to see what has happened to this once-amazing property. Service: The lovely atmosphere is gone because the experienced seasoned staff have clearly left. The remaining team looks forlorn, and the management/front-of-house staff in the restaurant were shockingly rude and condescending. Dining: What was once a high-end experience with show cooking and variety now feels like a 2-star roadside cafe. Tablecloths are gone, and basic items like ice cream now require an extra charge. The shocking part is while me and my partner was treated with very poor customer service as I asked about the possibility of more options as not much to eat. A couple of dishes but no where near a 4 star restaurant. Now a microwave is installed for us "picky Brits" I was witness to another person in the restaurant having meals cooked for them nearly everynight. Apparently if you wants something you can ask and they will cook it. Why not have more food out to choose yourself? Atmosphere: Despite the money spent on renovations, the hotel is now "soulless." The bar is dead at night, and there is no life in the building. Value: While the rooms remain clean and comfy, pool area is quiet and laid back. The reovated indoor pool is still a huge positive and I used it most days. It has to be noted the overall experience is no longer value for money. I have complained to my tour operator and will be following this up. If you do book, I recommend Bed & Breakfast only, as there are much better restaurants nearby. I truly hope management listens to this feedback and restores the hotel to its former glory. I am aware that times change and the past is the past but service and quality should be a basic in a hotel like the Falesia. What a shame, I wished this was not true but sorry to say it is. Save your money as it is a pricey stay but it was always worth it. NOT NOW. Let's hope they listen. I am not a geriatric or a whinge bag by the way.
Stayed for 4 nights, just a short break but a well needed one. Did b and b, room, cleanliness of hotel and breakfast where all outstanding. Bed exceptionally comfortable. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols round the pool, the gardens are lovely with really comfy covered beds with mattresses to doze on. Only drawback is the plethora of mainly elderly people absolutely bursting to tell you, and anyone else, how terrible the hotel is compared to how it used to be. I quite enjoyed telling them what a great time I was having in this fantastic hotel and how I would definitely be coming back. Dont be put off by these professional whinge bags. This place is superb.
